My Thoughts: Leo Laporte Blows up at Mike Arrington on the Gillmor Gang - June 6, 2009 (via MPB326)

So I think Arrington was completely out of line here. Sure Leo lost his head and maybe he shouldn’t have, but the reaction post intial response is uncalled for.  Even if Arrington’s intentions were to make some point about review units, Leo is a journalistic professional, who has a reputation for purchasing what he reviews.  Arrington did two things here: 1) he insulted Leo (even if that was not his initial intent), 2) he got defensive immediately, where he could have taken control and cleared the air.

What’s more, he acted like a child saying, “what are you going to do about it?”  Arrington should have said, “No, now let me rephrase that Leo, that’s not what I meant.”

Who knows, maybe Arrington didn’t get enough sleep and wasn’t on his game…either way, it was a sour outcome.

I say, good for Leo to stand up to the guy.
